Chapter 1205
Zhu Yanyi had no intention of entering the Ruyi Space again. Instead, she pulled a book out of it and began to read. As she read, the words seemed to have a hypnotic effect. She lay on her side and fell asleep.
In the middle of the night, Zhu Yanyi felt a familiar embrace. She stirred slightly, sensing that she was not alone in bed. She hurriedly opened her eyes and saw Yan Aohan beside her, his arm around her waist, looking at her.
"Woke up?" he asked.
Seeing Yan Aohan, Zhu Yanyi smiled silently, her face full of joy. She buried her head in his chest. "I wasn't awake originally, but I felt you come, so I woke up."
Hearing Zhu Yanyi’s words, Yan Aohan held her tightly, as if he wanted to merge her into his own flesh and blood. "It’s been nearly a year. Did you miss me?"
"Of course I missed you," Zhu Yanyi pouted. "Whenever I had free time, the most thing I did was think of you."
"If you missed me so much, why didn't you call or message me? Unless there was an emergency, you basically didn't plan to call me, right?" Yan Aohan didn't believe Zhu Yanyi missed him that much. Of course, there was some truth to it, but saying she thought of him every free moment? He absolutely didn't believe it. This little fox was likely saying this to avoid him holding her accountable.
Zhu Yanyi stuck out her tongue. "I really missed you, but only when I had free time."
"Little fox," Yan Aohan said, laughing helplessly. "How much free time do you have in a UN peacekeeping force in Country W?"
As expected, Yan Aohan knew this girl’s words were like sugar-coated bullets. In a peacekeeping army, countless things happened every day. As a military doctor, she certainly had no free time. So, her claim of missing him during "free time" was definitely exaggerated.
Zhu Yanyi giggled. "But when I did have free time, I still missed you. That’s the truth."
"You…" Yan Aohan shook his head at her shameless attitude and gently tapped her nose.
Zhu Yanyi lay in bed, burying herself completely in Yan Aohan’s embrace. "Actually, to be honest, I did miss you. Although I was usually very busy, every time I finished work, I would wonder what you were doing. Whenever I had time to watch the sunset, I would wonder if you missed me, if you were resting well. Every time I missed you, I couldn't help but want to go back. But I knew it wasn't time for me to return yet. So, I just made myself busier, living day after day like this."
"Silly girl," Yan Aohan whispered, his voice slightly hoarse and moved. He looked closely at the girl before him, as if afraid she would disappear.
She lowered her head and pressed her lips tightly against hers. Nearly a year of longing was poured into this single kiss.
Moonlight spread across the room, its soft glow shining through the window onto the bed, witnessing their longing. It also witnessed the awkwardness of the Venerable Yanluo of Kyoto. She rushed into the bathroom, skipping the shower. Fortunately, Zhu Yanyi had prepared cold water, which she poured directly over herself. Seeing this, Zhu Yanyi was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter, her joy evident.
The next day, Yan Aohan and Zhu Yanyi appeared together. Luo Gang and the others were slightly surprised but wisely said nothing. After all, everyone in their group already knew the nature of their relationship.
During breakfast, Yan Aohan served Zhu Yanyi a portion of bacon, a bowl of egg soup, and a sandwich.
