Chapter 289: Jiang Shiying’s Dilemma
Although this courtyard belonged to him, it was not easy to meet him in daily life. Moreover, with the recent poisoning incident, one would expect Yan Aohan to be busy handling it, given his involvement.
Yan Aohan smiled faintly, glanced at Zhu Yanyi, and continued reading his book. "Many things do not require my personal involvement. I have subordinates. I only need to give orders, and they will execute them and bring me the answers I need. This is the correct way to manage." His tone implied that he was the perfect example of effective management.
Zhu Yanyi raised an eyebrow slightly. The words felt strangely familiar, as if she had heard them somewhere before. She shook her head, choosing not to dwell on it. "I don't really understand your concept of management." She shrugged. She knew she was not suited for leadership roles and disliked the idea. In her own words, if she joined a company, she would be an excellent employee because she would responsibly complete any task given by her superiors. This approach was simple for her. Managing people, however, would be troublesome, and she disliked using her brain for such matters.
Yan Aohan smiled, seemingly having anticipated her response. "So you chose to become a doctor."
Zhu Yanyi nodded. "Being a doctor is good. It not only helps others stay healthy but also brings me joy. I don't know if I am too stubborn, but seeing others healthy makes me happy."
"That is very good," Yan Aohan nodded. "Indeed, you have a natural ability to nurture life."
"Huh?" Yan Aohan’s voice was soft, and Zhu Yanyi missed it. "What did you say?"
"Nothing. I just said your mindset is wonderful. They say doctors have benevolent hearts. I don't know about others, but I see that quality in you," Yan Aohan said with a smile. "Hurry up and get ready. I will take you for breakfast, and then we will visit the Great Wall."
"Oh." Zhu Yanyi nodded, then remembered the others. "Where did my parents go today?"
Yan Aohan smiled. "Grandpa Zhan informed them that their equipment has arrived at Tian City port. So, I arranged for someone to take them there. Your sister said she had never eaten Tian City’s Goubuli buns and mahua twists. Your mother and godmother wanted to try them too, so they decided to go together. They said they might return today if time permits, or tomorrow if not. They asked me to let you know. Rest assured, even if they don’t return, my people will arrange their accommodation and meals. Don’t worry."
"Didn’t Xiao Zhang take them today?" From Yan Aohan’s words, she realized it was not Zhang Haifeng.
Yan Aohan hummed in agreement. "Haifeng had a matter that required his personal attention, so I sent him away. The person accompanying your parents is another trusted brother of mine. You can rest easy."
Zhu Yanyi raised an eyebrow slightly. "I am not worried. I might not trust others, but how could I not trust you?" This was Zhu Yanyi’s sincere feeling. She didn’t know why, but she trusted Yan Aohan completely. It felt as if, in this world, only he would never deceive her. This feeling was so strong that she had to shake her head to dispel this inexplicable sensation.
