Chapter 291: Dealing with a Troublemaker

Zhu Yanyi’s appetite was not as large as Yan Aohan’s, so one fried dough stick was more than enough. The two finished their breakfast in silence. Only then did Yan Aohan lead Zhu Yanyi toward the Great Wall.

"The food in the capital is always hard to leave behind," Zhu Yanyi sighed, savoring the taste of the soy milk and fried dough sticks. "Thinking that I won’t be able to eat them in a month makes me reluctant to leave already." She blinked her eyes, showing how much she craved them.

Seeing this, Yan Aohan shook his head silently, a slight smile playing on his lips. "When you get into university, you can stay in the capital for at least four years. Four years is plenty of time for you to eat your fill."

Zhu Yanyi didn’t take his words too seriously. While Yan Aohan made sense, the issue was that she went to university to study. She was already busy without being in university; she feared she would be even busier once enrolled. Still, she remembered Yan Aohan’s good intentions.

There was still some distance from the capital to the Great Wall. Zhu Yanyi had gone to bed late the previous night, so the vibration of the car soon lulled her to sleep. When she woke up, they had already arrived at the foot of the Great Wall, and the car was parked. Yan Aohan was reading a newspaper nearby. Seeing Zhu Yanyi awake, he folded the newspaper. "You’re awake. We can go up the Great Wall now."

Zhu Yanyi stretched her shoulders and neck, got out of the car, and moved her legs before speaking. "Why didn’t you wake me up when we arrived?"

Yan Aohan chuckled softly. "We’re here to relax, not in a hurry. You went to bed late last night, so I let you sleep." He pointed in a direction. "Let’s go. We can go up faster from here. This is a shortcut I know. It’s quicker than the usual path, and it only takes half an hour on foot to reach Jiayuguan. Let’s go."

"Okay." Zhu Yanyi nodded and followed Yan Aohan.

This shortcut actually crossed through a small forest. Zhu Yanyi looked at it speechlessly. "How did you find this place? Who would have thought there was a path here?"

Yan Aohan smiled lightly. "It wasn’t really opened up. One of my brothers likes to reach his goals as quickly as possible. This shortcut came from him. It’s said that after walking the whole way once, he didn’t like it. He thought the main roads were useless and didn’t understand why people were so excited walking them, finding no passion in it. So, he simply found this path and cleared it out. Once everyone knew about it, we mostly take this route."

Zhu Yanyi laughed. She hadn’t expected such a person. Just hearing about him from Yan Aohan, she knew this person was quite amusing. "It seems your brothers are all quite interesting."

"Yes, they are quite interesting." Yan Aohan seemed to recall something, then snapped back to attention and looked at Zhu Yanyi. "You will have your own little group in the future."

Zhu Yanyi tilted her head and thought for a moment. "Probably. But I’m studying medicine, so the people I interact with will likely be medical students too." Then, she thought of something and smiled inexplicably.

Yan Aohan raised an eyebrow slightly. "What are you smiling at?"

Zhu Yanyi laughed. "I was thinking of the idiom 'birds of a feather flock together.' I don’t know exactly what you do, Yan Brother, but I know you have brothers like Xiao Zhangzi. You must be extraordinary. Since I’m studying medicine, my social circle will probably be within that field. But if there’s someone who loves to brag, wouldn’t the people around them also be braggarts? Could their boasts really reach the sky?"
