Chapter 415: The Clothing Business Is Over!
Zhu Yanyi smiled lightly. "This is self-defense. Besides, I have practiced for five or six years. If I couldn't handle a thief like this, I would let down my skills."
Cheng Baokun laughed from the side. "But Ani, don't you think it is too violent? Be careful, or you might find it hard to find a husband later."
Zhu Yanyi pouted. "If no one accepts the real me, I won't look for one." For a moment, Yan Aohan’s face flashed in her eyes. Their purple-gold ropes had appeared together and connected. She knew she and Yan Aohan were likely inseparable. She also felt confident that Yan Aohan would not mind her violence.
Zhu Shun Yao spoke up. "My Ani doesn't need to marry so early. She will go to university and work hard." He looked at Zhu Yanyi. "Ani, don't just pick any bad man. It is better to stay home." Then he turned to Zhu Yanli. "An Nang, remember this too. Don't trust men's words easily." He sounded as if he were not a man himself.
Zhu Yanli and Zhu Yanyi held back laughter and nodded in unison. "Dad, don't worry. We won't fall in love so early."
Cheng Baokun twitched his mouth, speechless. Chen Ailian almost laughed out loud. "Truly a father who loves his daughters. I think An Nang and Ani will have trouble finding partners later."
Cheng Baokun said slowly, "I wonder what would happen if a son-in-law really came to visit?"
"What son-in-law? There is no son-in-law." Zhu Shun Yao looked annoyed. "My daughter is not marrying anyone."
"Yes, yes. Your daughter is not marrying." Cheng Baokun dared not offend a father who loved her daughters too much. But thinking of how excellent Zhu Yanli and Zhu Yanyi were, she sighed. "I think our goddaughters really don't need to rush to find a husband." Now another father had become a daughter-protector.
Cheng Chen laughed so hard she could not stand straight. Zhu Yanyi and Zhu Yanli could only hold their heads and sigh at the sky. They had only caught a small thief, yet the topic turned to husbands. Human thoughts were indeed hard to understand.
After leaving, the group went to a guesthouse near the City No. 1 Middle School. Since Zhu Yanli needed to register tomorrow, they stayed there for the night. The father and daughter booked two single rooms. These rooms were tiny, with just a bed. The bathroom was a public toilet, and there were no windows. Zhu Yanyi felt these rooms were carved out of the corridor space. They chose them only because they were cheap. Each room cost eight cents a night. Two rooms cost sixteen cents. They were side by side, so there was no worry.
The space was small. There was only a foot-wide path to the bed. Their luggage barely fit. Finally, they put two pieces of luggage in each room, planning to endure the cramped space for the night.
After putting away their bags, they went out to wait for the bus. This was to help Zhu Yanyi and Zhu Yanli familiarize themselves with the bus stops. Zhu Yanyi already knew how to take the bus, but she said nothing. It was her father's care, so she accepted it.
They walked around until three in the afternoon. Zhu Shun Yao and Cheng Baokun saw them off at the city center. After Cheng Baokun sent Zhu Shun Yao and Zhu Yanli back to the guesthouse, the couple left for home.
