Chapter 549: Late-Night Urgent Message!
The children first needed to change into military uniforms that fit them. Once the activities were finalized, the organizers had already obtained the children’s height and measurements to tailor the uniforms. Zhu Yanyi and Zhu Zhibin were both satisfied with their new outfits. Although the uniforms were still a bit loose, the length was just right. Zhu Yanyi didn’t bother having them altered smaller. It was summer, so loose clothes were more comfortable. Besides, they had small belts. Once the belt was tied, even the loosest uniform would fit snugly. However, among the accompanying children, there were a few foreign kids who looked somewhat out of place in the Chinese military uniforms.
Out of the twenty children, five were foreigners. Zhu Yanyi didn’t pay much attention to their nationalities. After all, no one here cared about each other’s backgrounds. The fact that these children were allowed here meant the authorities knew their origins. But it was rare to see children with fair skin, so the other kids were very curious. Even Zhu Zhibin looked on from a distance with interest and said to Zhu Yanyi, "Sister, their skin is so white."
"Because they drink milk every day," Zhu Yanyi gave a casual excuse. She glanced at Zhu Zhibin’s wheat-colored skin and added, "So you should drink more milk too."
Zhu Zhibin gave Zhu Yanyi a skeptical look, his expression clearly saying, Don’t try to fool me. "Second Sister, I think you’re just a big bad wolf tricking little kids. Do you really think I’m three years old? Drinking milk won’t make your skin white. You can say anything, can’t you? Besides, I’m a real man, not a delicate girl. Why would I want white skin? My current skin color is healthy. Do you understand?" He finished by flexing his arm, showing off his muscles, clearly satisfied with his complexion.
"Hehe, just a little brat, calling yourself a 'real man.' Aren’t you afraid of losing face if you say that out loud?" Zhu Yanyi made a funny face at Zhu Zhibin.
"Are you really my sister? Why do you enjoy bullying your younger brother?" Zhu Zhibin felt genuinely wronged. How did he end up with a sister who loved teasing him?
"Pfft." A laugh came from behind them. Zhu Yanyi and Zhu Zhibin turned around to see Xie Jingyun and a little girl of about seven or eight standing there, both laughing happily. Xie Jingyun said, "Sister Ani, so this is how you bully Brother Doumiao at home."
"Is your name Doumiao? That’s such a cute name," the little girl next to Xie Jingyun said, looking at Zhu Zhibin.
"Doumiao is my nickname. My full name is Zhu Zhibin. You can call me Zhu Zhibin. My nickname is only for relatives to use, so you can’t call me that," Zhu Zhibin explained. He had long wanted to address the issue of his nickname.
"Hello, Zhu Zhibin. My name is Yunyue, and my nickname is Yueya. My dad said I was born on the day of the new moon, so my nickname is Yueya," Yunyue introduced herself seriously. "Can we be friends?"
"Although you’re a girl, I guess it’s okay. You look so delicate, so I won’t bully you. If you want to be friends, then let’s be friends," Zhu Zhibin said with a touch of tsundere attitude.
Zhu Yanyi’s eyes twitched. When did this kid become so tsundere? She reached out and tapped her on the head. "You little guy, when did you learn to be so tsundere? Little Yunyue wants to be your friend, and you’re acting all high and mighty. Where’s your gentlemanly demeanor?"
