Chapter 700: The British-Owned Group Is in an Uproar!

Fashion trends varied from place to place. The people in the Four Towns valued simplicity, while those in the capital chased style. A new environment meant new challenges, starting with clothes. Yan Aohan knew that in the capital, people often judged others by their attire. So, looking good was important.

With Yan Aohan leading the way, they visited high-end shops. Zhu Yanyi did not hesitate. She had plenty of money—some from Zhu Shun Yao’s allowance, and the rest from rewards for saving lives. At first, Zhu Yanli and Zhu Zhibin felt shy. But seeing Zhu Yanyi’s confidence, they relaxed. They thought, If we run out of money, we’ll just borrow from Zhu Yanyi.

By the end of the day, the three siblings each bought seven or eight outfits. Zhu Yanyi also bought two sets for Yan Aohan. When he realized she had picked them out for him, he was thrilled. He nodded without even checking the colors. As long as they were for him, he loved them.

After shopping, they finally rested. Yan Aohan took them to a private kitchen restaurant.

"This place opened two years ago," Yan Aohan explained. "Hai Feng and I were hungry and stopped by. The hygiene was good, and the food tasted like home. However, the owner is from Sichuan, so the dishes are spicy. Can you handle spice?"

"Sichuan’s mild spice is fine," Zhu Yanyi smiled.

"Then we are good. Many dishes here are actually light. We can order those, but we might miss the local flavor. We can just tell the waiter to keep it mild."

A waiter approached. "Hello, what would you like to order?"

Yan Aohan handed the menu to Zhu Yanyi. "Would you like to choose some?"

Zhu Yanyi did not hesitate. She knew her siblings’ tastes. "One dish of coriander and peanuts, one salt-and-pepper ribs, and one mushroom with green vegetables."

"Sister, I want meat," Zhu Zhibin suggested.

Zhu Yanyi glanced at her. "I haven’t finished ordering. I know you want braised pork. Let’s get a clay pot braised pork." She handed the menu back. "You order the rest."

Yan Aohan smiled and took the menu, but did not open it again. "Add one steamed sea bass, one onion and egg stir-fry, and one clay pot lung soup. If it needs chili, make it mild." Most dishes were light; only the soup might have chili.

The waiter nodded and recorded the order. "Would you like any drinks?"

"No, just hot water. Please bring a thermos," Zhu Yanyi said directly. Yan Aohan had to drive, so he could not drink alcohol. He had no interest in outside beverages either. Hot water was best.
