Chapter 2334
"Alright." Zhu Yanyi walked straight in, heading to Emergency Room 103. She pushed the door open and saw chaos. It was noisy, like a hundred ducks quacking at once.
Zhu Yanyi frowned slightly. "Be quiet." Her voice was cold and clear, instantly silencing everyone.
Only then did people notice her. A middle-aged man approached. "Who are you?"
"I am Zhu Yanyi." She took a white doctor’s coat from her medical kit, put it on, and wore a mask. Then she spoke: "Two assistant nurses stay. One family member stays. Everyone else, out."
"Divine Doctor Zhu, I’ll stay." The man’s eyes lit up. "I am Ding Cheng. The patient is my father."
"Okay." Zhu Yanyi waved her hand. "Let the others go. This noise affects the patient’s mood."
Ding Cheng agreed quickly, waving people out. Only two assistant nurses remained.
Zhu Yanyi didn’t even look at the medical records. She checked the patient’s pulse and pupils first. She was glad she arrived in time. If she hadn’t come, the old man would likely have died.
The patient had suffered a sudden acute myocardial infarction. Zhu Yanyi took out her golden needles. The Thirteen Needles of Reviving Dead Wood were second nature to her.
As the needles went in, a golden light surrounded the patient. His iron-blue face slowly relaxed, and his complexion improved.
After the last needle, Zhu Yanyi checked her pulse again. The blockage in her heart had been dispersed. Her heart function was recovering. Though she was old, recovery wouldn’t be instant. Fortunately, the vitality from the needles was continuously supporting her.
The patient’s weak breathing grew stronger.
The two nurses and Ding Cheng watched this change. Ding Cheng finally admitted: A divine doctor is truly a divine doctor. What seemed hopeless was solved so easily.
Zhu Yanyi took out a prescription pad and pen. She wrote quickly and handed it to Ding Cheng. "Get the medicine. Boil three bowls of water down to half a bowl. Do not over-boil. If you do, start with new herbs. Never re-boil old ones. It loses effectiveness and harms the patient."
"Understood, Divine Doctor. I’ll remember." Ding Cheng said seriously.
"Once I remove the needles, she will be saved. Take this medicine once a day for seven days. I’ll check on her then, or you can call me." She wrote her number for her. "Starting tomorrow, I’ll be a traveling doctor. If anything happens, call me. I’ll tell you where I am. Bring the patient to me."
She added, "After needle removal, she can move to a regular ward. Don’t worry."
"What exactly did my father have?" Ding Cheng asked, curious now.
"Sudden acute myocardial infarction. If I hadn’t come, or if someone else had, you’d be arranging a funeral in half an hour." Zhu Yanyi spoke directly, not fearing anger.
Ding Cheng didn’t get angry. Perhaps he thought a divine doctor’s strange temper was normal.
Seeing her reaction, Zhu Yanyi said nothing more. "You should be glad you contacted my senior brother, and she contacted me. Otherwise, in half an hour, even Venerable Yanluo couldn’t have saved her."
Ding Cheng realized how dangerous it had been.
"Most importantly, this condition hates noise. With so many people, I thought I was in a market, not an emergency room. Remember: no noise in any ward." For Zhu Yanyi, any factor harming the patient must be eliminated.
Ding Cheng smiled bitterly. "You’re right. It was too noisy. I’ll remember. We’ll be careful."
Zhu Yanyi nodded. She waited until the golden light faded, then removed the needles.
Ding Cheng saw his father’s face was still pale but had a hint of redness.
"It’s normal for him to sleep. He fought hard against the illness. He’ll sleep for two hours. Use this time to get and boil the medicine. When he wakes, give him the medicine, then some plain white porridge. For now, only white porridge. No side dishes. No mixed porridges like century egg and pork rib. Until I say otherwise, only white porridge."
Zhu Yanyi instructed Ding Cheng directly and seriously.
Ding Cheng nodded. "Understood. Divine Doctor, rest assured. We’ll follow your orders."
"If there are no issues, I’ll re-examine her in seven days. Call me if anything happens." Zhu Yanyi packed her kit and headed out.
Outside, Yan Aohan was waiting. she took her kit. "Done?"
"Yes. She’s saved. We can go back." Zhu Yanyi nodded to Ding Cheng and left.
As soon as she left, Ding family relatives surrounded Ding Cheng. "Ding Cheng, how is it?"
"He’s fine. Father is saved. I’m going to get the medicine." Ding Cheng looked better now, remembering how dangerous it had been.
"I’ll go," Ding Mao said. "You work during the day. You’re tired. Let me go."
Ding Cheng nodded. "Go get it. Bring it home and have Auntie boil it. Tell her: three bowls down to half. Do not boil it dry. If it’s ruined, use new herbs. Never use old ones. That’s the Divine Doctor’s order."
"Okay. I’ll remember."
"The Divine Doctor said Grandpa will wake in two hours. Don’t wake her now. Also, have Auntie make some white porridge. Grandpa can only drink white porridge for now." Ding Cheng repeated Zhu Yanyi’s words carefully.
Ding Mao agreed and went to get the medicine.
Zhu Yanyi and Yan Aohan returned home. The food was cold, so Yan Aohan heated it. They ate, then went for a walk.
Walking after meals was a nice pastime for them.
"At 2 AM tonight, the modified medical van will arrive at Yong City Airport. I asked Luo Gang to wait for it. Once it arrives, it’ll drive here. Tomorrow, we’ll drive the van out." Yan Aohan said seriously.
Zhu Yanyi raised an eyebrow. "When did you modify the medical van?"
Yan Aohan smiled. "When I modified the tour bus, I modified the medical van too. I thought you’d sit in hospitals, so the van could wait. But now, sitting in hospitals isn’t good for you. You decided to be a traveling doctor, so I brought the van. Coincidentally, it was finished a week ago. If it had been earlier, we couldn’t have picked it up."
Zhu Yanyi looked at her. "Husband, you’re like Doraemon. Whatever I want, you prepare in advance."
Yan Aohan laughed, kissing her cheek. "I’d rather be your husband than your Doraemon. I’ll only be your husband."
Zhu Yanyi nodded. "I was just using an example."
She held her hand and continued walking. "I didn’t think much before. I thought hospitals had the most patients. But I never expected doctors to suppress each other."
"Not just hospitals. Any company or unit with people has conflict. Whether it’s good or bad conflict is often unknown," Yan Aohan said.
Zhu Yanyi thought about it. "I understand competition elsewhere. But in hospitals, competition should be about medical skill, care for patients, and understanding diseases. That’s what doctors should learn. That’s the environment a hospital should have. But look at this hospital. Incompetent people are doctors. Capable people are suppressed. This hospital doesn’t serve the people. It’s selfish."
Yan Aohan looked at her. "So, what do you plan to do?"
Zhu Yanyi smiled. "That’s why I’m becoming a traveling doctor. I’ll show everyone that medicine is vast. You can’t just claim to treat people. Without skill, you fail. I’ll show that doctors shouldn’t boast or push expensive drugs. They should learn to be real doctors, to save lives. If they can’t, they shouldn’t practice. They tarnish the name of doctor."
Yan Aohan understood. Zhu Yanyi wanted to show that a doctor’s value isn’t their location, but their ability to bring hope. An incompetent doctor is useless, no matter how famous. A true doctor needs no promotion; people will respect and trust them naturally.
