Zhu Yanyi returned to the carriage and told Zhu Shun Yao and Cheng Baokun what she had discovered. Cheng Baokun immediately offered advice. "They are too bold. An'i, you two must not go to the toilet or fetch water alone from now on. Either I will accompany you, or your father will."
"I am not afraid, but my sister needs to be careful. However, we should not be overly paranoid," Zhu Yanyi giggled. She turned around and took out her medical kit. She handed out several small packets to everyone. Not only did Zhu Yanli receive one, but Xie Xinlian, Chen Ailian, Cheng Chen, Zhu Zhibin, Zhu Shun Yao, and Cheng Baokun did too. Clearly, she had prepared these in advance. In fact, they did not know that most of the medicines Zhu Yanyi made were stored in her Ruyi Space, ready to be used at any time if something happened.
Cheng Baokun looked at the packets. They were wrapped in ordinary white paper. He was curious about the contents. "What is this?"
Zhu Yanyi smiled, her face full of pride. "It is medicine I made myself. Open it and throw it at the target, and it can knock out four or five adult men. If dissolved in water, it can knock out five elephants." She then took out a small porcelain bottle and distributed a pill the size of a rice grain to everyone. "Eat it. It guarantees you will be immune to any poison for a month."
Thinking that caution was best when traveling, everyone smiled and swallowed the pills in one gulp. Cheng Baokun laughed. "It is good to have a daughter who knows medicine. We do not need to worry about safety when going out."
Zhu Yanyi smiled. "I do not know what kind of traffickers these are. Ordinary traffickers kidnap women and children. Some even traffic organs. So, everyone here could be a target. Dad and Godfather have strong bodies." Her implication was clear: they were ideal organ donors. Zhu Yanyi giggled. Chen Ailian laughed loudly. "Isn't that true? They are the best human organ providers."
Cheng Baokun and Zhu Shun Yao also laughed helplessly. "On this train, they are not that bold about organs. But you women, girls, and children must be careful. Fortunately, I and Shun Yao are here. We will stay alert at night."
Zhu Yanyi thought for a moment. "There is a saying: thieves can act for a thousand days, but victims cannot guard against them for a thousand days. I want to find evidence. If they are really traffickers, we should catch them when the opportunity arises."
Xie Xinlian tapped Zhu Yanyi’s forehead. "Do not stick your head out too much. Think of your mother’s heart. If they do not come to us, do not meddle in other people’s business."
Zhu Yanyi giggled and did not reply. She had other thoughts in her heart. However, her mother’s words made sense. If they did not come over, she might not have a reason to cause trouble. Suddenly, Zhu Yanyi actually hoped the traffickers would come. Only then would she have a chance to catch them.
Zhu Yanyi did not want to be a hero, but she had a sense of justice. This was probably due to her absolute disgust for traffickers. Thinking that traffickers did such things yet enjoyed wealth and honor in the human world made her feel particularly nauseous.
With preparations made, she became vigilant. During the day, the two families stayed together, chatting happily with their respective groups. Time passed quickly. At night, there was little entertainment, so everyone chatted until eight o’clock and then went to sleep. Perhaps because there were no air conditioners yet, the air was not polluted, and the earth’s temperature had not risen. The wind blowing in from the window felt particularly cool.
