Seeing Zhu Yanyi about to argue again, Yan Aohan hurriedly continued, "I have arranged your room on the sixth floor. I had it renovated, connecting the sixth and seventh floors with an internal staircase. The exterior access to the seventh floor is sealed. So, while the unit looks like it has seven stories, you cannot reach the seventh floor directly from the outside. You can only access it via the internal stairs from the sixth floor. The seventh floor houses your laboratory and my daily home practice chamber. The sixth floor is our living space, with the bedroom, living room, kitchen, and so on."
Yan Aohan walked upward with Zhu Yanyi as she spoke. "Additionally, Luo Gang and others will live on the first through fifth floors. The adjacent units will also be occupied by people I have arranged. You need not worry about safety here at all. Even if I am not present, you will be safe."
Upon reaching the sixth floor, Zhu Yanyi noticed there was only one door. "Why is there only one door?"
"Did you forget what I said? The sixth and seventh floors are fully connected. The external stairs to the seventh floor are sealed, so naturally, there is only one entrance to the sixth floor. I have merged the two apartments on this floor. Originally, each had three rooms, a large hall, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Now, I have combined them into four rooms. Besides the private bathrooms in each room, there is a large hall, a dining room, two studies, two additional bathrooms, and a kitchen. The total floor area is 320 square meters. There is also a special staircase leading to the seventh floor."
Yan Aohan opened the door and handed Zhu Yanyi a set of keys. "This set is yours. There are three sets of keys for the sixth floor in total. One is hidden in the secret chamber of the courtyard. If you lose yours or cannot find it, go there. One is with me, and this one is for you."
Zhu Yanyi tilted her head, looking at Yan Aohan. "What do you need a set for?"
"Of course, to accompany you. This is your home, my home, and our home," Yan Aohan answered naturally. She then smiled, pulled Zhu Yanyi inside, and closed the door.
Entering the room, Zhu Yanyi felt the space was vast. The color scheme remained strictly black and white, yet it was surprisingly harmonious. It lacked the coldness of monochrome tones, instead evoking a sense of spaciousness.
Yan Aohan led Zhu Yanyi around, explaining, "Upon entering, you see the large hall. To avoid a direct view, I placed a screen at the entrance. To the left is the dining room." Indeed, the dining table on the left was new.
Yan Aohan pointed to the sides. "The two rooms on the left are connected studies, with a small room attached. The three rooms on the right are bedrooms. Let me show you around first. Then you can check your bedroom. If you are not satisfied, I can have it adjusted." She then guided Zhu Yanyi through the tour.
Zhu Yanyi found Yan Aohan’s design very advanced. She made full use of space. For instance, the study doors were sliding doors. The wardrobes in the bedrooms were modular and embedded into the walls, making the rooms appear larger, simple, and elegant. Although the four rooms varied in size, their minimalist style pleased Zhu Yanyi. She liked every room, though she did not yet know which one was hers.
