Chapter 961: Full of Doubts
Zhu Yanyi smiled faintly, looking calm and composed. "I didn't ask you to sign up for this math competition. You did it yourselves. Since you signed up, you should try your best."
Zheng Feier rested her chin on her hand. "I’ve been doing so many practice problems that I was solving them in my dreams last night."
"That’s a good sign," Ma Yaya giggled. "Maybe you’ll get a good ranking this time."
Zheng Feier pointed at Zhu Yanyi. "Actually, in our dorm, I think having one genius like her as our representative is enough. I was so foolish to sign up for this math competition with you all."
"That shows we have a good bond. We share the blessings, share the hardships, solve problems together, and compete together," Luo Kun chuckled.
Hun Junlan took a bite of cake. He noticed Fang Enhua seemed stuck on a problem nearby, so he curiously peeked over and then laughed. "Don’t calculate that angle. It’s there to confuse you."
Fang Enhua’s eyes lit up. He quickly calculated the answer and then looked up at Hun Junlan. "Junlan, thank you."
"You’re welcome. Besides, I encountered this type of problem the day before yesterday. Zhu Yanyi explained it to me, and then I understood how to solve it," Hun Junlan replied with a smile.
"Are you from the same hometown? Did you know each other since childhood?" Zheng Feier asked curiously.
Hun Junlan shook his head quickly. "No. On weekends, when you all weren’t around, I went to the cafeteria to eat. Once, I forgot my meal ticket, and he lent me one. We found out we were both from Yunnan Province while eating together."
"That’s really rare," Ma Yaya said. "It’s very uncommon to find someone from your hometown at the Affiliated High School."
Hun Junlan grinned. "Isn’t it? It shows I have good luck."
"Koi luck?" Zhu Yanyi casually scooped a bite of cake and said.
"What Koi luck? What does that carp have to do with it?" Hun Junlan didn’t understand.
Zhu Yanyi smiled lightly. She almost forgot this was a term from later times. "They say the carp leaps over the Dragon Gate, symbolizing good luck and wealth. Calling you 'Koi luck' means you have good fortune."
"Thinking about it, that makes sense. Maybe I really do have Koi luck," Hun Junlan laughed heartily.
Fang Enhua didn’t say much. He just watched them quietly, his eyes full of gentleness, like a refined gentleman. He was polite to everyone, but in Luo Kun’s eyes, there was an indescribable strangeness.
Luo Kun studied Fang Enhua for a while, suspecting he was targeting Hun Junlan. After thinking it over, he decided to find a moment to warn Hun Junlan.
Fang Enhua didn’t seem to be thinking about anything specific. After studying for about another hour, he took his leave, seemingly without intending to disturb them. Luo Kun shook his head, feeling he was being too sensitive.
"Luo Kun, what’s wrong?" Zhu Yanyi noticed Luo Kun’s expression seemed off and asked with concern. "Are you overwhelmed from doing too many practice problems?"
"No." Luo Kun thought for a moment and decided to tell the truth. "I felt something was off about that Fang Enhua just now."
Zhu Yanyi was slightly stunned and looked at Luo Kun. "Why did you notice that Fang Enhua? She didn’t seem to disturb us." She never paid attention to irrelevant people.
Luo Kun nodded. "It’s precisely because he didn’t disturb us that I found it strange."
