The playground was nearly empty on the weekend, with only a few people passing by occasionally. Hun Junlan walked slowly to the parallel bars, flipped over, and sat on them. Fang Enhua leaned against a support pole nearby, watching her.
Hun Junlan did not speak first. If it had been Zheng Feier, she would have immediately asked Fang Enhua’s purpose. But Hun Junlan would not ask. Although she seemed ordinary, she had her own thoughts.
After all, she had entered the affiliated high school on her own merit. Even as a special recruit, her score had met the standard. Such a person was not simple-minded. Luo Kun and Zhu Yanyi trusted Hun Junlan to be alone at the school because she was wise.
“Junlan, aren’t you curious about what I want to say?” Fang Enhua looked at Hun Junlan. He was truly curious. She looked very calm, as if she was not worried at all.
“Is there something wrong? Do you want to borrow my meal ticket or money?” Hun Junlan pretended to be casual. “But let me tell you first, my monthly living allowance is only sixty yuan. So if you need more, I might not be able to help.”
Fang Enhua shook his head slightly. “I do not lack money.”
“Then what do you want?” Hun Junlan tilted her head, looking at Fang Enhua. “I thought you wanted to borrow money. If not that, what else could it be?”
“I will not beat around the bush. I want to ask you to go somewhere with me?” Fang Enhua looked at Hun Junlan, a hint of determination in his eyes. It seemed he had made a decision.
“Where?” Hun Junlan asked calmly.
“The Hun Clan. Your hometown.” Fang Enhua looked at Hun Junlan seriously.
“No.” Hun Junlan refused directly, without any hesitation.
“Aren’t you going to ask why I want you to take me to the Hun Clan?” Fang Enhua could not believe Hun Junlan would refuse so bluntly. “Have you not considered the consequences of refusing without knowing the details?”
“Our Hun Clan is not a secret clan that forbids outsiders. There are many outsiders in our clan, including legitimate Han Chinese and people of other ethnicities. If you just wanted to visit the Hun Clan for fun, you would not need me to take you. But since you are asking me to take you, you must have ulterior motives.” A flash of wisdom appeared in Hun Junlan’s eyes. “Although I am just a small figure in the Hun Clan, I know I cannot betray my people. So, asking me to take you is impossible.”
Fang Enhua looked at Hun Junlan and nodded slightly. “You are right. I do have a purpose for asking you to take me. My purpose is a medical book in your Hun Clan.”
A glint appeared in Fang Enhua’s eyes. “I know your Hun Clan has medical skills to save lives that others do not know. These methods are in that medical book. I have no other intentions. I only want to view that medical book because I suspect it belongs to my Fang family.”
“Heh~” Hun Junlan gave him a cold laugh. “Just because you say it is yours, does it mean it is? How thick is your skin? Even if our Hun Clan had such a medical book, we would not give it to you.” Hun Junlan jumped down from the parallel bars and tried to leave.
Fang Enhua stepped forward two steps and blocked her path. “I hope you understand. I am notifying you, not begging you.” At this point, she had no right to retreat.
