The little boy standing nearby caught the scent. At first, he was fine, but after a while, he couldn't hold it back. He grabbed the basin and threw up.
When he finished, Dong Bo Cao blew out the alcohol lamp and the burning branch. "It’s done," he said gently. "The worms are out. Your tummy won't hurt anymore."
The boy blinked, surprised. He rubbed his stomach. "It really doesn't hurt. Not at all. The hard feeling is gone." Best of all, even though he had thrown up so much, he didn't feel tired.
"The hard things are all out now." Dong Bo Cao pointed to the basin.
The boy looked inside and jumped back in fear. "So many long worms!"
The basin was filled with roundworms, taking up about a third of the space. It was clear why the boy’s stomach had hurt so much.
Zhu Yanyi explained to the crowd, "That little friend had a stomachache because of too many worms. It is easy to fix. Most people use medicine pills. But Dr. Dong Bo Cao used a special worm-chasing branch from our land. When you burn it and smell it, the worms come out through vomiting. It cleans them out very well."
This was the first time anyone there had seen such a treatment. They could not deny it. Zhu Yanyi and her team had changed what they knew about Chinese medicine. Even for a simple case like worms, this method showed how powerful their healing arts were.
The third patient was Tian Yingzi. She treated a woman with painful, irregular periods. She used moxibustion, bringing the mugwort leaves from China herself.
The crowd watched as she lit the herb, put it in a jar, and placed the jar on the woman’s belly. It actually worked! They had never seen this before. They were speechless. Was this really medicine, or was it magic?
The fourth patient was an elderly man with white patches on his face. He Bo Xing treated him. The cure was not instant, but the patches had already shrunk. Two more treatments would heal him completely.
The last patient was a middle-aged man suffering from extreme mental fatigue due to overwork. Luoyang Jun treated him.
Luoyang Jun used massage techniques and lit a strand of medicinal incense. As he massaged, the man fell into a deep sleep right there. It worked better than any sleeping pill.
The six representatives from China had shown their skills. Five of them had demonstrated their arts, and most of the audience was now convinced by Chinese medicine.
Zhu Yanyi was happy with the result. "I know you are all curious about Chinese medicine. But this is an exchange meeting. It is not fair if only we show our skills. Everyone should have a chance. So, our demonstration ends here. Now, please show your own medical arts."
When she finished speaking, the crowd was silent. They wanted to see more of the amazing Chinese techniques. It had given them a new understanding of healing. But they could not refuse. As Zhu Yanyi said, it was an exchange.
