"Brother, you really sleep deeply. It’s almost eight, and you just woke up. If you didn’t get up, we would have had to call you."
Balph rubbed his neck. He had slept so soundly that he couldn’t remember the last time he had such a long rest. He felt something was wrong, but he couldn’t figure out what.
"Mr. Balph, do you want to wash up and eat some dry food? Then we can start our journey," Zhu Yanyi called out.
Balph shook his head and smiled. "Wait for me a moment. I’ll wash my face, eat a piece of dry food, and drink some water. Since we haven’t started yet, we can drink from our water bottles. In the desert, once you start drinking river water, you’ll always want more. So, we should hold back on the road. For now, let’s drink as much as we can."
Zhu Yanyi nodded. "Okay, let’s drink a few more sips. We’ll hold back later." Even though they knew Balph was a member of the Terror Base, she was very considerate as a guide. She even shared these small tips with them.
After eating and drinking, Balph said, "Alright, let’s go. I slept in today, so we’ll probably reach the Gusi Lan Ruins around noon."
"It’s fine. We have plenty of time," Luo Gang said, looking completely unbothered.
Balph smiled. He was just explaining briefly. "Everyone, get on the camels. Follow me."
Balph walked in front, and the camel bells rang one by one as they moved forward.
They say the weather in the desert changes instantly. Zhu Yanyi was glad that their journey had been peaceful so far, without any sandstorms. Sandstorms in the desert are absolute top killers. No one knows how much chance of survival they would have if they encountered one.
Just as Balph had said, they arrived at the Gusi Lan Ruins a little past twelve noon.
Luo Gang said to Balph, "Balph, you can go do your own thing. We’ll stay here for two days. You can come pick us up the day after tomorrow." Luo Gang said with a smile.
Balph tilted his head and thought for a moment. "Okay, I’ll come back the day after tomorrow. Be careful while you’re playing around."
Luo Gang agreed, and then he and Balph led the camels to a nearby house. After that, they took their luggage and entered the ruins hotel.
Although the hotel was in the desert, it was quite nice. At least they provided bathing water. It wasn’t a shower; they had to fetch the water themselves, but it was still better than having no chance to bathe at all.
This time, they booked five rooms. Zhu Yanyi had her own room, Qin Tianxiang had hers, Zhang Yan and Wang Ye shared one, Luo Gang had her own, and Li Yang and Pei Tiandu shared another.
Qin Tianxiang and Luo Gang’s rooms were on the left and right of Zhu Yanyi’s room. Zhang Yan and Wang Ye’s room, and Li Yang and Pei Tiandu’s room, were opposite Zhu Yanyi’s. They tried their best to ensure Zhu Yanyi wouldn’t be in danger.
