Yan Aohan paused briefly, took a breath, and continued, "However, one thing remains the same. Whether human or spirit, upon death, the soul enters a virtualized state. If they harbored regrets in life, their aura becomes turbulent. This is where you come in—to guide these souls. That is the function of the Human Book."
Yan Aohan looked at Zhu Yanyi. "Guiding one soul earns you karmic merit. This benefits you greatly."
Zhu Yanyi knew the value of karmic merit. Her rebirth was made possible by the merit and power of faith from her past life. She looked at Yan Aohan and said, "I find you have a tendency toward being a charlatan."
Yan Aohan blinked in surprise, then laughed. "Aren't you afraid of this charlatan?"
"If you intend to trick anyone, it would be someone else. I know that much," Zhu Yanyi said with a grin. "But I am still very curious about everything regarding you."
"Keep being curious. However, it is not yet time for you to know everything. When the time comes, I will tell you all," Yan Aohan said seriously, looking at Zhu Yanyi. "Just like this Human Book. Now that it has appeared, I tell you. This way, you can accept it, isn't that right?"
Zhu Yanyi thought for a moment. Yan Aohan’s words seemed reasonable. She nodded. "Alright, let it be so. Who am I to refuse? I am the Medical God and the Medical Buddha Maiden. Hearing your words, I feel this Human Book was indeed destined for me."
"I thought you would reject it." Yan Aohan was curious. Zhu Yanyi’s acceptance was too strong.
Zhu Yanyi pursed her lips. "Why reject it? To me, this is normal. Since I became the Medical Buddha Maiden, I knew the world was not just humans. From your words, I can hear that humans are merely one type of surviving species. We evolved more perfectly, making us easier for non-humans to accept. Regardless, this is a good sign." Zhu Yanyi answered with a smile. "At least it shows humans still play a leading role in this ordinary world."
Yan Aohan laughed. "You say everything yourself. It seems I don't need to explain much more."
Zhu Yanyi made a funny face. "Speak. Why are you telling me about the Human Book now?"
Yan Aohan pointed out the window. "Look for yourself."
Zhu Yanyi looked out. Her eyes showed slight surprise. She had originally thought the blackness in the sky was just storm clouds. But now, perhaps because the Human Book had entered her body, she saw many small, human-shaped black shadows in the mid-air. There were many of them. Some shadows had red air currents swirling around them. "What are these things?"
"These are not things. They are souls that have not been guided," Yan Aohan told Zhu Yanyi. "They need you to guide them. Only after your guidance can they return to the Underworld and enter reincarnation. Otherwise, they will drift like this forever, eventually dissipating into nothingness."
"There are quite a few military souls here," Zhu Yanyi observed. She could see some souls still wearing hats, specifically military caps.
"This is a battlefield. Military souls naturally exist. However, these military souls are reluctant to leave their homeland, which is why they cannot return to the Underworld," Yan Aohan continued.
