The architecture of the entire underground city was exquisite. It was evident that the builders had poured countless thoughts and care into every detail.
Each building was adorned with gems of different colors. Such luxurious structures were places where ordinary commoners would never have the chance to live.
"What beautiful buildings," Zhu Yanyi sighed in admiration.
Yan Aohan smiled faintly. "It is a pity that there is no longer any human presence here." Without people, there was no vitality. No matter how exquisite, a city without life was merely a dead city.
"You say this architecture is preserved so perfectly. Was it originally built underground, or was it buried here due to tectonic shifts or the influence of the hexagram?" Zhu Yanyi asked, looking at Yan Aohan.
Yan Aohan shook his head slightly. "I am not sure. Let us go take a look."
"Where should we start?" Zhu Yanyi asked.
Yan Aohan pointed to the ground beneath their feet. "We are standing at one of the points of the hexagram. Let us start here, walk slowly, and observe. After we finish viewing these, we will go to the clock tower in the center."
"Okay." Zhu Yanyi was also curious. There must be a reason why these buildings were preserved so perfectly. She wondered what secrets lay within them.
The two descended and entered the house located at the first point of the hexagram. It was a two-story building. The gems on the exterior were arranged to form sparkling flowers, exquisite and unique. It lacked the majestic authority of the Nine Heavens, yet it possessed a distinct nobility.
Zhu Yanyi and Yan Aohan observed from the outside for a while before entering. Given the exquisite exterior, the interior was naturally no less impressive. However, Zhu Yanyi discovered that not only was the decoration superb, but the room was filled entirely with various gems. The walls, the furniture, and even the items stored inside were all made of jade and precious stones. There were gems of every shape and color, enough to dazzle the eyes.
"It is too stunning," Zhu Yanyi exclaimed. As a girl, such beautiful things naturally brought her joy.
They walked slowly along the path of the hexagram. In the second house, they found only books. Some of the characters were unfamiliar to Zhu Yanyi, but by examining the script, she could determine that they were ancient Western languages.
The third house contained various medicinal herbs. What surprised Zhu Yanyi was that despite the passage of so many years, the herbs and potions had not lost their efficacy. This indicated that the sealing and preservation of the house were constructed with incredible precision. In ancient times, this was undoubtedly a miracle.
The fourth room held various ancient Western weapons. They might not be practically useful now, but they held immense value for research.
The fifth room was filled entirely with gold. Real gold. The tables, chairs, and benches were all made of gold, shining brightly. Zhu Yanyi’s eyes nearly dazzled. She seriously suspected that the ancients were so poor they had nothing left but money.
The sixth room contained models of transportation vehicles and design blueprints that Zhu Yanyi had never seen before. The blueprints were complete, with data and required materials clearly marked. Zhu Yanyi felt that this world was incredibly advanced. Such blueprints and models were beyond the reach of modern technology, and it was unknown when the future might achieve them.
