There was nothing here that the beasts needed, yet they surrounded them. There must be something unexpected happening.
"Load your guns. Prepare to break out." The Holy Son ignored Yin Mei but had to order his men.
Yin Mei made a gesture nearby. They could no longer care about personal grudges. They had to get out first before settling scores.
"Miss, do you think they can get out like this?" Luo Gang asked Zhu Yanyi.
Zhu Yanyi focused on eating her lollipop. "Let’s keep watching. I want to see what happens when they run out of bullets." Her mood for watching the show didn’t change. "Honestly, I admire their patience. They waited so long to break out."
If they had tried to break out in the morning, their chances would have been much higher.
Luo Gang and the others smiled hearing this. They were safe in the trees, enjoying the show, so they weren’t in a hurry.
"Are you all ready?" Yin Mei asked.
"Ready." His men answered. To survive, they had to charge.
"Are you ready, Holy Son?" Yin Mei asked.
The Holy Son nodded. "Should we split and attack one side?" The Holy Son still had some brains.
Yin Mei looked at the situation. "Attack one side first. Once out, split into two groups. This will distract the beasts." It was the only way. Concentrated fire made it easier to break out, but staying together would attract all the beasts. Splitting up was necessary.
"Alright. Lighten your load and go." The Holy Son waved his hand.
"Ready, go." Yin Mei shouted. Everyone started shooting in one direction.
Bullets were effective. Beasts fell screaming. Yin Mei and the Holy Son rushed out. At first, it went smoothly.
But as they had predicted, their bullets were limited. By the middle, they had to split. Splitting divided the beasts, but it also weakened their firepower.
Zhu Yanyi watched calmly. "There are many wild chickens and rabbits below. Let’s pick some up to roast later."
Luo Gang and the others looked at Zhu Yanyi silently.
Zhu Yanyi really went to pick up the game. She also took two snakes for soup. She took medicinal parts from other animals and discarded the rest. When no one was looking, she moved some game into the Ruyi Space for future meals.
Zhu Yanyi didn’t rush to find the Holy Son or Yin Mei. Sometimes, shooting someone was the most satisfying. She didn’t want them to die easily. She wanted them to suffer.
"Miss, who do we chase first?" Luo Gang asked after dealing with the beasts.
Zhu Yanyi thought for a moment and pointed at Yin Mei. "Of course, Yin Mei. She has a deep grudge with me. Deal with her first, then play with the Holy Son." She smiled.
Luo Gang and the others smiled. Whether it was Yin Mei or the Holy Son, their fate was sealed. They would now act as excellent hunters.
Yin Mei saw the beasts behind him weren’t decreasing. The smell of blood attracted more beasts. His bullets were running out. After firing the last bullet, he climbed a nearby tree.
Survival instinct made him climb fast. His men also climbed nearby trees.
Zhu Yanyi nodded slightly. "They climb trees fast." Human potential was endless. Even climbing speed improved.
"Miss, should we go over?" Luo Gang asked.
"Of course. The beasts won’t hurt us." They had already taken Zhu Yanyi’s special pills, so the beasts wouldn’t attack them.
Zhu Yanyi walked slowly to Yin Mei’s tree. She looked up. "Yin Mei, it’s been years. You’ve improved. You even learned to climb trees."
The familiar yet strange face made Yin Mei pause. A flash of insight came. "You are Zhu Yanyi."
"Hard for you to remember me after all these years. It’s not easy." It had only been three years, but her words made it sound like decades.
"Little Divine Doctor, long time no see. What are you doing here?" Yin Mei was shocked. she wasn’t stupid enough to think she came to save her. Their deadly knot was tied when she kidnapped Medicine Elder.
"Of course, to see how you die." Zhu Yanyi spoke without fear of offending.
"Zhu Yanyi, you underestimate me. Can these beasts kill me?" Yin Mei sneered.
Zhu Yanyi laughed. "Whether I underestimate you doesn’t matter. The fact is, these beasts chased you up a tree. I’m curious how you’ll escape now."
Yin Mei paused, then looked at Zhu Yanyi for a while. "You lured these beasts." She noticed the animals around her weren’t attacking. They sat calmly, though they stared at her.
"Don’t wrong me." Zhu Yanyi acted innocent. She did it, but she wouldn’t admit it.
"If not you, why don’t the beasts attack you?" Yin Mei asked directly. Beasts weren’t humans; they didn’t discriminate.
"Because I have good character." This was infuriating. For Zhu Yanyi, Yin Mei was a bad person, so this was the truth.
"Zhu Yanyi, act like a man. Don’t hide. Admit you did this if you have the guts." Yin Mei said directly.
"But I’m not a man." Zhu Yanyi blinked her innocent eyes. "Haven’t you heard that women and small people are hard to raise? I am a woman, so I am hard to raise. Women can break their promises."
Could "hard to raise" be understood this way? Not only Yin Mei was stunned, but his subordinates and even Luo Gang were stunned.
