"Why did he target you if you had never been there?" Yan Aohan looked at the Godfather. This was information he needed.
"The situation thirty years ago was chaotic, as you know. The Tibetan region was equally unstable. It took immense effort to bring order here. Then, the Masked Man appeared. He proposed a deal: he would stabilize the region and ensure my future endeavors went smoothly. The only condition was that I complete his tasks. I agreed without much thought, for the circumstances left me no other choice."
The Godfather sighed, reflecting on how a single decision can ripple through countless lives.
"Once the deal was struck, the region stabilized, and my Holy Church flourished. I never questioned his true motives until later. I realized he sought karmic fortune. Initially, he stole the fortune of the Zhu family, which had manifested in Zhu Xinfu. After making a pact with Zhu Yongfu, he used methods to seize Zhu Xinfu’s fortune, allowing the Zhu family in Zhu City to rise. Yet, who could have predicted that the once-successful Zhu family would meet such a tragic end? When that downfall occurred, the fortune backlashed. Thus, he needed superior fortune."
The Godfather glanced at Zhu Yanyi. "She claimed Ani possesses top-tier fortune. Therefore, only by killing Old Yao could she obtain it."
Zhu Yanyi tilted her head, raising an eyebrow slightly. She was not surprised. The emergence of such an evil Buddha implied ulterior motives.
Yan Aohan’s eyes flashed with killing intent. "If he wants Ani’s fortune, he must first prove he can handle it."
As Yan Aohan grew angry, the air pressure in the cave dropped instantly. This was the divine pressure of a god. Old Yao and the Godfather exchanged looks of disbelief and terror.
Zhu Yanyi patted Yan Aohan’s hand. "It’s okay, don’t be angry. Tomorrow, that person is yours. Remember to punch her twenty times for me first, then strip her fortune. The more she desires something, the less she shall have. Make her watch everything slip away."
"Agreed." Yan Aohan consented without hesitation.
Silver Fox frowned slightly. "When did this evil Buddha appear? Does the Buddha Realm truly ignore this?"
"Who knows when he appeared? It is a matter for the Buddha Realm, beyond our control. As long as they do not provoke us, I generally stay out of it. But now that they have set their sights on my wife, I must respond."
Yan Aohan never lied. He intended to retaliate against the evil Buddhas for their ill intentions. However, before that, he had matters in this plane to resolve. He had plenty of time to deal with the evil Buddhas later.
Zhu Yanyi looked at the Godfather. "You are not one to share secrets. Why tell us now? Have you grown soft-hearted?"
"What if I say I have grown soft-hearted? Or perhaps, regretful?" The Godfather looked at Zhu Yanyi, seeking her reaction.
A faint mockery curved Zhu Yanyi’s lips. "If you truly regretted, Grandpa Zhihui would not have died three years ago. Death leaves no room for regret." She took a deep breath. "Rather than soft-heartedness, this is a transaction. You sought us out and shared all this. You desire something from us, or we possess something you want."
"The Masked Man said he would take me to his plane. I wish to see it," the Godfather stated directly. "I am as you say; turning back is impossible. The only path forward is ahead. I wish to reclaim what was lost to me there."
In truth, there was little that truly belonged to him. He mostly sought to fulfill his ambitions.
Yan Aohan and Silver Fox exchanged glances, instantly understanding the Godfather’s intent.
Yan Aohan pondered. He possessed the ability to send the Godfather to that plane, but the outcome might not be favorable. However, the path was the Godfather’s choice. Any consequences would be his own, unrelated to Yan Aohan.
Yan Aohan made his decision but kept his expression neutral, watching the Godfather.
"I originally came only to observe," the Godfather continued. "But after speaking with you, I believe you can help me achieve my goal. That is why I spoke so much."
Yan Aohan chuckled lightly. "Godfather, a transaction requires sincerity. Thirty or forty years ago, regardless of your reasons, you made a deal with the evil Buddha and received your rewards. Now, you propose a deal with us. I wonder what price you are willing to pay?"
Yan Aohan never offered free assistance; such a thing did not exist for him. He watched the Godfather, curious about the cost he would offer.
"I can give you the Holy Church," the Godfather said directly.
"Do you think I need the Holy Church?" Yan Aohan asked without answering.
Zhu Yanyi spoke calmly. "I am a doctor. I am too busy with medical matters to manage other affairs. I let Aohan handle my usual business. What use is the Holy Church to me? Go seek your own demise."
Silver Fox sipped his soup slowly. "I am interested in the Holy Church, but my interest lies in the thrill of seizing it. If you give it to me for free, that thrill is lost. Not good, not good."
The Godfather was surprised that anyone would refuse the Holy Church offered freely.
"Do not underestimate the Holy Church. Its influence spans the entire planet," the Godfather insisted seriously.
"The Light Holy Church? I know of it," Zhu Yanyi said indifferently. "But it has nothing to do with me. No interest means no interest."
"Then tell me, what do you want?" the Godfather asked Zhu Yanyi.
Zhu Yanyi shrugged. "I am not the one making the deal with you. So, asking me, I do not know."
The Godfather turned his gaze to Yan Aohan. He knew Yan Aohan was the decision-maker. He had asked Zhu Yanyi only to gauge her reaction.
