Chapter 2974
Yan Xiwan nodded slightly.
The next day, she brought the student files to meet the principal.
The principal’s face lit up with a smile as he saw her. "How are the students I recommended? Not bad, right?"
Yan Xiwan glanced at him and said, "They are indeed good. But Principal, you should know that I practice both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine. I hold a dual degree. What you gave me are only Western Medicine elites. I cannot make them start learning from the basics of TCM."
The principal was slightly stunned. "I hadn’t thought of that."
Yan Xiwan explained, "If I only teach them Western Medicine, my original intention for mentoring students would be in vain."
"Our school is either TCM or Western Medicine. There are truly no students who study both. However, medical skills are generally interconnected. See if you can guide them," the principal suggested to Yan Xiwan.
Yan Xiwan pondered for a moment. "How about this? I will select two Western Medicine students. Then, you give me two TCM students. This way, they can learn from each other in their daily studies."
The principal nodded immediately. "No problem."
It had to be said that the principal himself understood that Yan Xiwan’s method was the best. After all, Yan Xiwan was extremely busy with various projects waiting for her. Having her teach basic medical skills to others would be a waste of her talent. Basic medical skills could be learned at school.
Yan Xiwan selected two from the files. "These two for Western Medicine. As for the TCM files, call me when they are ready, and I will come to pick them up."
"Done." The principal agreed without hesitation.
After leaving the principal’s practice chamber, Yan Xiwan went to Dormitory 207.
"Fourth Sister." Seeing Yan Xiwan enter, the other three stood up.
"What brings you here?" Pan Hongmei asked.
"I came to see the principal, and then stopped by to visit you all." She looked them over. "You all look healthy. Do you have classes today? If not, let’s go out. I’ll treat you to a meal."
"My third period this afternoon is an elective. I can just get notes from my classmates later," Hu Ya said.
"I’ve already finished my classes for today," Pan Hongmei said.
Pei Wushuang added, "I’ve finished mine too, so no classes today. Tomorrow, I have classes all morning."
"Alright, let’s go out. I’ll treat you to lunch," Yan Xiwan said with a smile.
"Awesome!" Pei Wushuang exclaimed. "My mouth has been tasteless for days."
Yan Xiwan looked at Pei Wushuang. "Did your family’s Zuo Xiangmeng abuse you?"
"How dare he!" Pei Wushuang said with vigor. "I just love meat. With Mengzi away, I don’t eat big meals at home. And there’s no big fish or meat at school, so my mouth naturally lost its taste."
Pan Hongmei laughed. "Enough. Hurry up and get dressed. Let’s go eat the rich."
The three quickly changed clothes and walked out of the dormitory with Yan Xiwan.
"Since Fourth Sister left, I feel our dorm has become quite quiet," Pei Wushuang said as they walked.
Yan Xiwan replied, "By next year, when new students arrive, your dorm will probably be full."
"That’s true," Pan Hongmei said. "The number of students increases every year. The dormitory situation is still very tight. I just hope the one coming next year isn’t difficult to deal with."
"Even if she is difficult, we aren’t afraid. We three are a team. If she has a good personality, we’ll take care of her. If not, we’ll just ignore her," Hu Ya said.
Yan Xiwan said, "Second Sister, aren’t you afraid people will say you’re forming a clique?"
"Let them talk. Besides, those who talk are the ones really forming cliques," Hu Ya said, not caring about being reported.
"Besides," Hu Ya looked at Yan Xiwan, "Don’t we have you as our backing? If something really goes wrong, would you bear to leave us to die?"
Yan Xiwan looked helplessly at Hu Ya. "Digging such a big pit for me."
"Absolutely," Pan Hongmei, Hu Ya, and Pei Wushuang said in unison.
The four did not lose their friendship despite being apart; instead, they chatted and laughed lively.
They didn’t go far. Just outside the school, turning left, a new steakhouse had opened.
The four decided to eat there.
They didn’t care if it was authentic or not; they mainly wanted something fresh.
Each of the four ordered a steak and a drink.
Yan Xiwan felt that with everyone’s usual appetite, one steak might not be enough. So, she ordered two portions of braised noodles, two pizzas, a small cake, and a fruit platter.
For anything else, they planned to order more if they were still hungry after finishing these.
After ordering, the four sat down and started chatting.
"Fourth Sister, what have you been doing lately?" Pan Hongmei asked.
Yan Xiwan said, "Resting. I just finished exams, so naturally, I need to rest."
"By the way, I heard you’re going to mentor students, right?" Hu Ya asked curiously.
"Yes, starting next semester. This semester, I just need to confirm the students," Yan Xiwan said. "Besides, there aren’t many days left in this term."
Since the New Year was in late January, students usually went on holiday shortly after New Year’s Day. It was already mid-December, so indeed, there were only a few days left.
"I really envy those students you’re mentoring," Hu Ya said enviously. "It’s a pity my grades aren’t good enough. Otherwise, I would have applied to be mentored by you."
Yan Xiwan glanced at Hu Ya. "It’s not that your grades are bad. It’s that you haven’t settled down to study. Anyway, you don’t plan to use what you learn."
Yan Xiwan knew that Chen Zhengguo had already started secretly creating a small company, seemingly planning to join it directly after graduation. Hu Ya seemed to have similar thoughts.
"Actually, I’m quite conflicted," Hu Ya sighed. "Zhengguo treats me very well now. I won’t deny that. But if I don’t have my own career and only rely on Zhengguo, I worry that conflicts will arise over time."
"Those conflicts will definitely arise," Pan Hongmei said. "Women need to be good to themselves. In my opinion, you should have your own career."
Yan Xiwan nodded slightly at Pan Hongmei’s advice. "First Sister is right. Women are not weak by nature. Remember, in the ancient matriarchal society, women held the dominant position. So, I never believe women should cling to men."
Pei Wushuang looked at Hu Ya. "Second Sister, are you really planning to give up your career and follow Chen Zhengguo?"
"I don’t know what to do. To be honest, I don’t have much passion for being a nurse, but I’m not very familiar with economics either," Hu Ya sighed.
"Weren’t we talking about starting a business together last time? I was wondering why you didn’t bring it up," Yan Xiwan said, looking at Hu Ya.
Hu Ya was slightly stunned, looking at Yan Xiwan. "You mean I can start my own business?"
"Yes," Yan Xiwan nodded. "You studied nursing pharmacology, so you understand medicinal properties. You could open a medicinal diet shop or a Chinese medicine beauty salon. This way, you apply what you’ve learned. Second, it won’t give people the impression that you rely on Chen Zhengguo. Third, distance makes the heart grow fonder. If you and Chen Zhengguo both have careers, you won’t have conflicts of interest, and your relationship can last longer."
"I agree with Fourth Sister," Pan Hongmei said.
At this moment, the steaks and other dishes arrived.
The conversation paused briefly until everything was served, then they continued the topic.
"I also agree with First Sister and Fourth Sister," Pei Wushuang said. "If you open such a shop, I’ll invest in it too."
Yan Xiwan added, "I said last time I can invest 100,000, and I only need five percent of the shares."
"Okay, I’ll think about it carefully. I need to decide what to do," Hu Ya thought, and a vague idea formed in her mind.
Pan Hongmei said only after seeing Hu Ya had figured it out, "This is the right way. No matter what, we must protect ourselves so we won’t be bullied."
"If anyone really bullies you, tell us. We’ll vent your anger," Pei Wushuang patted her chest, looking like a female knight.
Yan Xiwan glanced at Pei Wushuang. "Second Sister has her own ideas. What about you, Third Sister? Don’t think that because you’re married, you can do nothing."
"I’m simpler," Pei Wushuang said casually. "My parents and in-laws know my personality. They said long ago that after I graduate, I’ll go work as a nurse in Mengzi’s combat team."
Speaking of this, Pei Wushuang’s eyes were full of light, showing she truly longed for the combat team. "By the way, I heard there’s war on the front lines again, and it seems very fierce this time."
Yan Xiwan frowned slightly. She had heard this too. But she thought about the Peiyuan Powder she had refined, which was already in production, and Ouyang Tianyun’s gravity watch, which was also in production. Therefore, the physical fitness and constitution of the soldiers had improved significantly. The casualties would probably decrease a bit.
"And I heard the school is sending students to support the front lines. I plan to sign up," Pei Wushuang continued.
"The school is sending students to support the front lines?" Yan Xiwan’s heart skipped a beat. "What about the major hospitals? Aren’t there many hospitals? And there are exclusive combat medics on the battlefield. Why would they need current students?"
"It seems the front line is very long this time, causing a shortage of combat medics. Many doctors from major hospitals have been transferred. However, basic nurse assistants are still lacking, so they decided to use current students," Pei Wushuang said. "Otherwise, the school wouldn’t agree to let current students go to the front line."
Current students haven’t interned yet. It’s impossible for them to be formal doctors, as lives on the front line cannot be controlled by an intern. But as assistants or nurses, it’s acceptable, as they have received professional training.
