Chapter 307: A Show Is Coming

Yan Aohan smiled. "I’ve read some books, so I know a little. But my understanding isn’t deep." He looked ahead, lost in thought.

"What are you thinking about?" Zhu Yanyi asked. She sensed she had something on her mind.

Yan Aohan turned to look at her. "Ani, I need to handle some matters. I might have to leave here for a while."

"Oh." Zhu Yanyi wasn’t surprised. Yan Aohan owned so much private property; he wasn’t an ordinary person. "Is the place safe? How long will you be gone?"

"The place might not be safe for others, but it’s no danger to me. However, the matters are complex. I can’t estimate the time yet. It could be half a year to a year at the shortest. At the longest, it might take five years." Yan Aohan looked at Zhu Yanyi. "Ani, you must work hard. There is no real Cinderella in this world."

Zhu Yanyi paused slightly, then understood. She hadn’t revealed her identity, but she wanted her to strive. Even if she didn’t grasp the full meaning, she knew the truth behind the story.

"Cinderella wasn’t a real Cinderella either. She was just down on her luck. When her father was alive, she was the little princess of the house." Zhu Yanyi didn’t answer directly. "Besides, I can’t be Cinderella. I am who I am. I won’t change my goals for anyone." She looked at Yan Aohan. "Even for you, I won’t change my goals. I will always do what I believe I should do."

"Good. This won’t change you, nor will I ask you to change. But whatever the future holds, you still need to work hard." Yan Aohan repeated his point. He didn’t explain why she needed to work hard or what exactly she should strive for. Zhu Yanyi assumed he meant she should work hard to become a good doctor. "I will work hard. So, when are you leaving?"

"In about half a month. So, I still have some time to walk around and look at things with you." Yan Aohan answered lightly.

(⊙o⊙)… Leaving in half a month? Why tell her so early? Zhu Yanyi felt Yan Aohan was doing it on purpose.

Yan Aohan seemed not to notice Zhu Yanyi’s expression. Instead, he chuckled and walked forward. "Come on. There are many people ahead. It looks like there’s something interesting happening."

Interesting? Zhu Yanyi didn’t believe it. But this time, Zhu Shunyao hadn’t lied to her. Zhu Shunyao led her around a corner, and Zhu Yanyi saw a small market. It was truly small. Many vendors had spread cloths on the ground, displaying various items. Zhu Yanyi looked at Yan Aohan. She understood he wanted her to explain. "This is the real place for experts to find treasures. If you’re lucky, you can find many good things. But similarly, there are the most fakes here. One wrong move, and you’ll lose money. So, this is usually a place only experienced people come to."

"How do you know about this place?" Zhu Yanyi asked impulsively. Then she tapped her head. "I’m talking nonsense. With someone like you, it’s hard not to know. I bet you know how many rats are in every corner of the capital."

Yan Aohan tilted his head, looking at Zhu Yanyi. "Does that sound like a compliment to you? Or are you teasing me?"

Zhu Yanyi stuck out her tongue and pulled Yan Aohan’s hand. "Alright, alright, don’t worry about it. Let’s go see the fun quickly."
