Zhu Yanyi nodded. She knew she was the designated vice class monitor, so she had to go when the teacher called. She turned to Gao Xia and the others. "You keep studying. If you don’t understand anything, wait for me. I will teach you when I come back." Then she went out with Cheng Chen. Gao Xia and the others did not mind. They focused their minds on their studies again.
Zhu Yanyi and Cheng Chen left the dormitory. Since everyone was just teenagers, there were not many restrictions. There was no special dormitory guard downstairs. At most, passing female students looked at Cheng Chen curiously. They wondered why a boy was there. But no one else cared. The dormitory had four open sides. Cheng Chen led Zhu Yanyi out. "It seems you get along well with your roommates."

"I am not the class monitor yet." Cheng Chen glared at Zhu Yanyi. Although Teacher Gao said she should be the monitor, the announcement would be in the first class tomorrow.

The siblings chatted happily as they walked. Soon they arrived at Teacher Gao’s practice chamber. Cheng Chen and Zhu Yanyi went in. Teacher Gao was writing something. Seeing them, she waved. "Come in quickly."
Cheng Chen and Zhu Yanyi looked at each other, then walked in. Teacher Gao pointed to the seats nearby. "Sit anywhere. I will finish writing these things soon."

Two ceiling fans hung from the roof, turning slowly. On a small table by the door sat four thermos bottles. Each desk had a wooden file holder.

"What matter?" Cheng Chen asked.
Teacher Gao said, "There is a knowledge competition for new first-year students on September 3rd."
"Teacher, are you joking? September 3rd? We have only been in class for three days. A knowledge competition for new students? You don’t mean we compete on what we learned in these three days, do you?" Cheng Chen was speechless. Who came up with this idea? It was really weird.
