Zhu Yanyi and Teacher Fang found a private kitchen restaurant. They picked a seat by the window, ordered food, and chatted while eating.
"Zhu Yanyi, I see you are busy every day. Other teachers say you are studying medical research projects. Is that true?" Teacher Fang asked curiously.
Zhu Yanyi nodded. "It’s okay. I just want to learn more. I like this subject." She took a bite of food. "Did a teacher complain to you about me?"
"Go away. Complaining is useless. Our teachers treat you like a treasure." Teacher Fang smiled.
Teacher Fang was right. Not just the high school teachers, but all teachers at the affiliated middle school loved Zhu Yanyi. They treated her like a treasure, almost like an ancestor. She was perfect in her studies. She had no weak subjects. Her exam answers were complete, and her handwriting was neat. Even if she read other books in class, she never disturbed others. Who wouldn’t love such a student?
"No, Teacher Fang. Be modest. Just listen to me," Zhu Yanyi said playfully.
Teacher Fang laughed loudly and pointed at her. "You child, I can’t do anything with you."
Suddenly, a loud bang shook the building. It sounded like an explosion.
Diners in the restaurant were stunned. They ran outside to see what happened.
A large truck had tipped over. The rear tire had burst. For a small car, a burst tire is manageable. But this was a large truck. The burst tire shook violently, knocking off another tire. The loose tire bounced and rolled quickly toward a child sitting on a bamboo chair in the sun. Danger was imminent.
Zhu Yanyi rushed forward. She stepped on the ground to stop the tire’s speed, then kicked its center. The rolling tire stopped instantly, falling just three meters from the child.
The child didn’t know what happened and kept smiling. Zhu Yanyi picked up the child and asked, "Whose child is this?"
"Mine, mine." A mother came out. She had been too scared to move. She hugged her child and thanked Zhu Yanyi. Zhu Yanyi shook her head slightly and handed the child back.
"Save the driver!" someone shouted. Good people were everywhere. The truck still had a driver and a cargo handler inside. No one cared about the cargo yet; saving lives came first.
Zhu Yanyi went over. The driver was lucky. After the tire burst, she grabbed the steering wheel and steered toward a large tree. This saved the people in front. Otherwise, the large truck would have hurt many more. However, the driver and the cargo handler were injured. Zhu Yanyi carried needles with her. She checked their pulses first. Seeing no life-threatening danger, she didn’t use gold needles. Instead, she used silver needles to stop their bleeding.
